Well I bought the Kaplan Blue Book today, along with Cliff's AP Bio Practice tests, and some Bio flash cards. I plan on buying Achiever, Destroyer, and Topscore fairly soon. I was wondering whats the best study aid that kinda guides you through some techniques for the PAT? The Kaplan blue book didnt seem to have too extensive of a section on the PAT, and other the other aids seemed to focus more on the science parts without a whole lot on the PAT. Is it just a matter of doing the PAT problems in the practice tests and getting experience with them or is there a good aid that goes through techniques? Thanks. 👍

Barron's Book has a great PAT section - it just tells you how to look at the questions. The math section is useful too, but in my opinion, it is useless for anything else...it's cheap too.

Yes, I agree, the Barron's book does have a pretty good PAT section. Also, the Top Score Pro DAT cd gives you fairly accurate sample tests that have good PAT sections to help you practice.

Cool thanks guys. I just orderd the Barrons DAT (along with Schaums Bio) on amazon. It was like 16 bucks so Id say worth it. The only thing I have left to get are Achiever, Topscore, and Destroyer. So my list would be:

Destroyer
Achiever
Topscore
Kaplan Blue Book (w/cd)
Schaums Bio
Cliffs AP practice Bio Tests
Barrons DAT (for PAT and math)
College Textbooks for reference*

*Im thinking about buying my old Gen. Chem book again (i duno why i sold it) for reference.

Im starting fairly early on this stuff (probably October or so) so Im hoping I will have it all down pat by June or so when I take it.

Save your self some money and just buy the Schaum's outline for college chemistry. It will be easier to review than your text book, cheaper, and gives you everything you need to know.

Schaum's Ouline of College Chemistry

Also, nice work on getting such an early start - it will pay off. I thought I started early when I started studying in January and took the DAT in May! Best of luck.

Yea if the Schaums is as good as everyone is saying they are I might go with that...and yes much cheaper. Im starting this early because I need to, lol. Ill probably start off slow and kick it up a notch once I get into winter break. I need some pretty spectacular scores along with a great year GPA wise to have a chance the way these latest cylces have been. But im just going to give it my all and see what happens. Thanks for the help!

I've tried DAT Achiever and found it the most challenging guide on PAT thusfar. Its SNS and other sections seem pretty helpful too like many others say on the SDN.

I wouldnt doubt that some of the aids with practice tests have pretty tough PAT questions, but I was wondering more about techniques in guiding you through the PAT.
