Does anyone have any suggestions for a comfortable chair for studying at a computer desk? I was looking for something that is easy on the back of the legs and can be used for hours and hours and hours of studying. I figure I will be studying for such a long time each day, so a nice chair would be a good investment.

To me, more important than a chair is a good reading stand (aka dork board). Ever since I started using one for all of my reading/studying I have had much less soreness in my upper back. What little I do get now can be easily treated out by my fellow classmates. Be sure to get a sturdy one and not a cheap one that can't support your textbooks. These are also really nice if you own a tablet PC.

I used to have this full backed mesh material chair when I worked in an office. it was so nice. I think it was only like $60-70 from Office Depot or Office Max. I could sit on it for hours and hours and hours. 😀

Here is a website with some nice ergonomic chairs http://www.ergo4me.com/

However, be careful b/c the prices on alot of these models are absurd. Try google searching keyword <ergonomic chairs> which are designed for optimum comfort. Try to avoid purchasing one with a head rest, you dont want to get too comfortable and fall asleep.

I personally use this chair http://www.bizchair.com/cc5343l-os.html

I've had one for over 8 years now, the same one, its comfortable, I sit on it all day.

My suggestion is use a criteria where the chair has adjustable height/arm support with interchangeable back angle support. Its important you do not spend 10hrs+ with a slouched back, also you want to minimize strain on your neck so definetly consider getting the reading stand like mbHopper and noshie suggested, plus if you dont like it you can return it.

That thing looks really nerdy. I'll probably end up getting one as well. 😀 Hopefully I can find a cheaper one...

A resist-a-ball. I know it sounds crazy but it really helps keep the abdominal wall engaged, strengthens the low back, and helps with posture (aka-making you a more efficient learner). Make sure that the ball is blown up with enough air that your butt doesn't go past your knees when in the sitting position. Plus, if you get tired just do a few bounces or squats and you are awake again.
