Hi everybody,

So I'm having my volunteer interview in a couple weeks and I'm pretty sure they're gonna ask me what dept I want to go to. Now, I know a lot of students volunteer in the ED. However, I heard that chronic care looks better (according to Kaplan's book). Anyone have any advice on what dept to choose?

Go with chronic care.

Looks better where? No, don't tell me.

Do whichever one sounds more interesting to you. They probably have position descriptions.

No sane admissions committee will actually care. Volunteering in the hospital = volunteering in the hospital. Do whatever interests you, don't pick your ECs out of a book!

Every premed has volunteering in the hospital. It won't matter.

Actually it does matter. If every premed has done it, then it will matter even more when you haven't done it.
