Hi --

So I'm a rising sophomore and will be taking Organic Chem next fall. I figured it would be a good idea to prepare myself by studying a little bit myself this summer. A lot of universities offer free organic chemistry courses online, including all the materials needed for that class. Anyone have any recommendations to which I should use?

I'm mainly debating between Yale's Open Course and the one offered through UC Irvine.

Also, any other tips on preparing for Orgo?

Khan Academy all the way.

Khan knows how to give you the intuition behind the big picture. I have used him for many different subject and he has not let me down.

Btw orgo rocks! Approach it like a puzzle especially once you get to synthesis. But even for mechanisms (which everyone dreads) if it makes sense to you (i.e. why an electron would move to that atom as opposed to a different one), it might actually be fun!

If you don't understand why things happen in orgo, then you will probably hate it. Try to fully understand the intuition behind everything and enjoy!

Good luck!
