I'm interested in hearing about what you think are the best GS programs in Ohio, preferably any community programs.

Cincinnati is supposed to be the best in Ohio. Our Vice Chair here also said that TriHealth (Good Samaritan Hospital) is good and Case Western Reserve is supposed to be good.

How about Cleveland Clinic?

Hi there,
I know a bunch of folks who came out of the Cleveland Clinic GS residency program. They are excellent surgeons but the biggest problem with the CC residency is that there are tons of fellows which tends to dilute some of your big case experience. The facilities are excellent and the faculty is also top notch with a love of teaching.

One of the best programs in Ohio is the Case Western Reserve residency (University Hospital). They have great faculty, great rotation locations and produce some of the best surgeons in OH.

I was also a fan of the Medical College of Ohio program before Starens left. I am not sure how his absence has affected the training there.

njbmd 🙂

u may want to have a look at Fairview Hospital. It's affiliated with CC

I too have heard that UC is the best in Ohio, but I must put in a good word for The Ohio State University. With Ellison as chair, and Melvin as our Chief...we have and will continue to carry on our great traditions. I look forward to seeing some of you on the interview trail. Have fun on the interview trail and enjoy the rest of 4th year.
