I think the best loupes for the value are the q-optics 3.5x for $950 (if I remember correctly). Personal opinion but I definitely don’t regret getting them.

I second Q-Optics, but I would recommend getting the Prismatic 3.5-4.0, and avoid the High Resolution. I think the only people who had issues with Q-Optics purchased the High Resolution ones. Many people also like Enova loupes, but they are a smaller MN company and I’m not sure how their service varies by region.

I have orascoptic 3.0x and love them! They're customer support is phenomenal too if you need to get yours readjusted

The classmates who bought generic loupes off Amazon or some other site were equally satisfied as the rest of us who bought the fancy kinds. Buy cheap now and get yourself a nice pair when you graduate.

Q-Optics 3.5x+ prismatic. Don’t go cheap and end up buying better ones after graduation. You’re gonna want them eventually, get them now and enjoy them in dental school and likely 20+ years in practice. Most dentist get new loupes because they want more magnification so don’t skimp on that. 3.5x or higher to start.

The best loupes?
I think Zeiss makes the best loupes as they actually make their own lens.
