Attend all your lectures.
Math (calculus)
General chem I and II
Organic chem I and II

Biology is a crap shoot.. no way around that.. lots of ecology
and a very few very basic human anat/physio questions.

Verbal... read from age 5
Reading... (refer to verbal)
Writing... (refer to reading)

Honestly the exam was dead easy.. I scored ~80 the first time I wrote it (June 05) after intense studying of kaplan for a couple weeks.

Write the exam ONCE (make sure your you've taken all of organic 1 and 2) before you take it for real.. you'll need to have taken organic and math at the second and first year level (respectively) otherwise you'll have no idea whats going on. Once you write the test you'll get a general idea of what the questions are like its a 120 bucks but in the end its well worth it considering you'll know what questions they will ask and how they will ask it (questions are usually repeated). After writing your exam once and getting the general gist of things, write it agian the following session while the format of the exam is still fresh in your head. I say to do this because NONE of the books I used are representative of the actual exam (Kaplan/Barrons/Petersons). Those books would all probably cost you 120$ in total anyway (same cost of exam), so you might as well listen 😛

So again... to summarize
1 - attend all your lectures
-*Optional* -borrow the Kaplan book from a local library and do the math
portion (front and back) using kaplan time restraints to prepare you for the
actual exam speed
2 - sign up for the exam nearest to your date
3 - maybe recommended to buy the harcourt practice exam (19$.. or 38$ if
you want to be a keener and buy both)
- write the exam after reviewing your organic notes ..
4 - after the exam recap on all the questions that were asked and write them
down on paper so you can study it later on
5 - sign up for next exam IMMEDIATELY!
- assuming you did NOT do stellar just by writing the first exam write the
exam agian this time prep with all the necessary books and stuff you need
There shouldn't be many though..

I just wrote the exam for the second time, and I have to say after taking
Org, I KNOW I aced chem, i did it all thinking I was running out of time only to realize that when I finished I had a good 10 minutes left to check over all my answers (well.. half of them almost..)

Recap.. agian..
Math was a breeze too.. just work on timing.. agian I suggest kaplan to work on timing, they do a good job at keeping the pressure on.

Biol.. I really don't know how to study for this.. maybe someone else can offer advice

Chem.. go over ORGO NOTES!! I swear the exam was 50% organic this time, all very basic naming/nomenclature/simple reactions with carboxylic acids/amines/ketones/aldehydes (basically all the simple reactions)

No need to worry about NMR spectroscopy or anything though..

Anyway good luck to you future test takers!
