Hi everyone! I just completed my first run through of material and am planning to take my first practice test this weekend but I can't decide which test to take. Of all the NBMEs, uworld assessments, free 150, etc. is there one that would be particularly good to take after?

In a similar vein, is there a traditional order these tests are taken in overall? I'm sure everyone has unique opinions but I was just wondering if there was a general rule people used.

Thanks!

(sorry if this is something discussed elsewhere, did a search and couldn't find anything)

Going from oldest to newest is generally the recommended way to approach it.

I understand that 7 is no longer available, so I would start with NBME 11. The last one I took was NBME 16 before my test and it was the closest to my score, whether that was because of the test itself or the timing of it (being closer) I can't say.

I mixed one UWSA in the middle, it seems that UWSA 2 has some over-predicting issues so I used UWSA 1.

For example my order was:

NBME 7
NBME 11
UWSA 1
NBME 16

Thanks for your input! Getting feedback from people who have already experienced this is super helpful!

What is everyone's thoughts on stacking 2 NBME's/UWSA's on the same practice test day to build endurance? For example, each week I plan on taking the follow two tests in combination:

NBME 11 & UWSA 2
NMBE 12 & UWSA 1
NBME 13 & NBME 15
NBME 16 & NBME 17

@Sea Otter this is the order I plan on taking these tests from oldest to newest. Based on previous threads, UWSA2 is easier I believe so best done earlier.

Seems like a reasonable order to me. It took me an entire day (~8 hours) to get through UWSA1 since I annotated and read all the answer explanations with the questions; are you planning to just look at your 3-digit score?

Yea, I will look over my exams the following days. I think after 8 hours of testing I just need the rest of the day off to recover.

anyone one else with any tips about the order? I really don't know which one to do first.

Yeah, just pick one. Think about all you've learned over the past few years, all you'll be cramming during dedicated, and anything else that will contribute to your score. How much of an effect will your order have on your score? None.
