hey,
just wondering if anyone knows of/goes to a program with amazing social residents. I'm looking for a program where I could see myself hanging out with cool residents who like to go out and are adventurous. I just don't want to go somewhere i'm stuck all alone in a strange city staring at 4 white walls. Does anyone know of some kick-ass fun residents? thanks!

p.s. i do have to say i've been to orlando and they have awesome partying residents who advertise 80% of them are single and enjoy their fair share of night life
p.s.s. i haven't found a program that just "fits" so i'm getting nervous🙁

I vote for Baton Rouge.

We had a great time and from what I heard, our preinterview dinners were legendary on the interview trail.

I know our interns here at Georgetown go out a lot! I've had my fair share of brewskis (and Irish Car Bombs) with them atleast 5 times so far this year, and I know they go out many times without me. Plus they even get cash to spend on going out once a month as a group. I wish we had that in my residency....

We are incredibly sociable at our program. Residents, nurses and faculty all hang out together in various permutations. Plus, nothing beats nyc for going out

Yes, we work hard, and we play hard. But then again, so do most EM residents - especially when compared to, say, pediatricians. (Although we have some kick-ass pediatricians who hang out with us too.) And it's not just partying - we have marathoners, triathletes, skydivers, scuba divers, mountain and road bikers...

I'm in the married minority and don't go out as much as some (or near as much as others), but we do have a good time. Speaking of, I finished Step 3 today, and am heading out for some sushi and saki. 🙂

I hear that Indy is a "party program..."
(I went to their wine and cheese party when I interviewed there... quite the shindig.)

im at cook county, and i wouldnt say we're the most social bunch, but in a group our size (18 residents per class) you're going to be able to find your group of people that will go out regularly.

ahhh, the memories!!!

I'm putting in my vote for UCONN....we have a really good time here. All of the residents like to hang out, go to happy hour, have parties, etc. It's not rare that by the end of journal club we're either playing flip cup or beer pong, or headed to the nearest bar!

Indeed. And the notorious xmas party is fast approaching. 😱

And J is coming to town to celebrate... want to join us??????? We miss you.🙁 🙁

Thankfully there are not 3 flights of stairs that we have to try and navigate in drunken stupors this year. 😀 Of course, the mariah carey spotting will probably be less. 😀

The folks at Orlando seemed to go out a lot since most of them are single. Also probably the hottest female residents in EM that i've ever seen!
