I’m trying to gather as much information as possible. I’d like it to be a program that will be familiar with podiatrists outside of the area as well if I decide to leave after residency. After asking around between upper years and attendings I’ve gotten the feeling the “big name” programs in the area amount to 3 main ones I’ve heard over and over.

Penn Presby
Jefferson NE/Aria?
Temple

What other programs can I add to this list in your opinion?

Programs in the Delaware Valley area are good, meaning Philadelphia and South Jersey across the Delaware River:

In Philadelphia area:

1. Penn Presby (4 year program)
2. Aria Health (3 years)
3. Temple University Hospital (4 years)
4. Drexel Hill (3 years)
5. Roxborough Memorial Hospital (3 years)
6. St Josephs (3 year program)
7. VA-Philadelphia (3 years)
8. Albert Einstein Medical Center (3 years)
9. Bryn Myr (3 years)
10. Hanhnemann University Hospital (3 years)
11. Crozer (3 years)

In South Jersey area:

1. Virtua (3 year program)
2. Cooper University Hospital (3 year program)
3. Kennedy (3 years)
4. South Jersey Health Care (3 years)

So, there are a total of 14 podiatry residency programs to apply to through CASPR if you love the Delaware Valley area. :D

List from 10 years ago that might help. Programs change over time and some new ones pop up so take it with a grain of salt. Just because a program is “highly rated” doesn’t mean it’s the best fit for everyone.

Can vouch for Christiana Care, Delaware if you want to stay in that area.

Tons and tons of surgery. Solid attendings to learn from. High standards. Take 1 a year. There's a review somewhere on the Residency Review thread.
