Hey, I was hoping someone could point me towards a few good resources that might help me as I am a very visual learner. The bullet/outline list format of Goljan/BRS books doesnt' really do it for me, I need to see pictures, diagrams, charts, etc.

For example, when I was taking micro last year, this:

http://www2.uic.edu/stud_orgs/prof/M2/courses/microbiology/micro_mnemonics.pdf

really helped a lot, and I guess I am looking for similar types of things as I begin my dedicated board prep. I'd say path and pharm are probably my weakest subjects. I am an IMG if that matters, thanks.

1. You're going to have to suck it up and learn from the bullet point books, because that's what they all are. I am the same way and there are few options.

2. Use question banks. What I did, was any time they asked a question where they described a path specimen, or they put up a slide, and I didn't know what it was, I would always stop right there and google it. If I found a good picture, I put it into a power point. My power point had about 100 slides in it.

That is awesome! Yeah more things like that would be fantastic.

For Micro.. you can find similar pics in MMRS
and for illustrations on Patho..

This is what I used for a while. Then I eventually just suck it up as well and did Goljan as is.

Looking for stuff can be time consuming when you are desperate to get a pic in your head of what you're reading, but most of the sources are just like that. Another thing I might suggest for you is to check out Netter's patho illustrations atlas from the library. That helped me some too. But believe when the test starts approaching, there will no time to look at anything other that the core essentials.

I'm the same way--I learn best with pictures and diagrams, etc. For pharm, I've found the Lippincott book to be really helpful. It's part of "Lippincott's Illustrated Reviews". The pictures for MOAs and such have really helped me get them into my head.
