What do you guys think would be the best state to be a resident of for a pre-med? texas would be my guess.
To acquire females or to acquire medical school acceptance?
West Virginia >>>>>>>> Texas, for premed. In-state WV students have better odds of admission vs TX, and tuition is still very reasonable.
Not making this claim for anything else, well, except for the scenery and weather 😀 Texas has the better food (bbq!), culture, etc., in my opinion.
And the cities (Houston). Also, tex-mex
California.
I would say Texas and NY are pretty good to be a resident of. 3 SUNY medical schools in the state of NY. Ton in Texas as well.
4 actually. Buffalo, Upstate, Downstate, Stony Brook.
Illinois?
For student loan debt...North Carolina. ECU's in-state tuition is $10,000 (a couple of years ago it was less than $8,000) and UNC's is $14,000.
How many med students manage to get out with less than $50,000 in debt?

baylor instate tuition is $6500Still, ECU is the cheapest med school in the country. Lots of folks pay more than that for undergrad at their state school.
Ohio is really nice. We have a mix of upper/middle/lower tier MD, a DO, a Pods school, and 2 solid SMP programs (toledo, cinci).
I think we have something for almost every applicant.
A doc once told me "If you cant get into medical school as an ohio resident, you're doing something wrong."
Yeah I don't think so...Obviously it's Pennsylvania. Seven allopathic schools and all but two are pretty easy to get into for in-state applicants.
Illinois is not bad if you dont mind paying private school tuition. You have UIC, which is a good school, and if you are from Southern Il you have SIU, which arguable has some of the lowest admissions numbers in the country, because they only take from southern IL, you also have Rush which is private, but very very IS friendly
