now obviously , there is no single best text for both

for IM training i would suggest a solid book like harrison's or ACP and a pocket book like MGH or washington manual.although i have found good reviews for handbook for internship survival guide on amazon i dont know how trtue they are.for the boards, every body here suggests MKSAP and medscape or medstudy. many programs provide mksap as a part of the library, so if you program does, you shouldnt worry about it. rest oif the prep i think comes from daily reading like searching journals and reading 1 chapter of harrisons a day sothat you are done with that book in ayear. just a plan....

For boards--MKSAP/Med Study
Text--I really like Current Medical Diagnosis
Day to Day stuff--can't beat Up to Date
