best thing to do for step 2 during the year

just got my score for step 1 and can officially move on. just wondering about step 2 though, is it worth preparing for it like step 1 with doing questions and annotating a first aid or something (something i didnt do for step 1 and it made that study period hell) or whats best? thanks guys

all signs point to 'uworld'.

do it alongside your rotations. do it again at the end of the year. then do it some more. really the most important resource out there.

Used kaplan q bank, then u world for 2-3 weeks before the step 2...did extremely well >260 on step 2. Also pretest apps on your iphone/ipod is awesome for doing questions while you are actually on the wards. If you are doing well on the shelves you'll do great on the step 2. It is much more intuitive than the step 1. Good luck!

thanks guys. wouldn't say i bombed step 1 by any means but not as well as i had hoped. i know step 2 is not as important but trying to study the right way for it since i kind of blew off step 1.

did you all use any step 2 books all year long for shelf exams etc? I kind of got caught with my pants down for step 1, did ok but not as high as i wanted so i wanna do everything i can for step 2 and 3rd year. thanks!

Nah. youll make it through UW once during the year and then again during step 2 study.

I also used MTB step 2 throughout the year. Its a relatively quick read, high yield and awesome.

great, thanks for the info. i will probably finish up this rotation and then get something to mtb to add to uworld and call it good.
