I am planning on taking the Dat mid-august of 2010. If I were to take the DAT Kaplan course, when would be the best time to take the course? Id be out of school mid-may. I would be finishing up ochem and gbio that spring semester. I want to take the dat the summer after so it is still fresh in my head haha. So when is the question?

Thanks!!

And also, which is better? the 2 days a week or 3 days a week course?

i am currently taking the kaplan course right now and my class meets twice a week. there is a lot of work to do in between each class meeting, so i think this is better than a 3x/week course. so much material gets covered in each class (like a semester's worth of gen chem is covered in a 3-hr class period), and there are quizzes, wkshps, reading, and practice tests to take so it can get pretty time consuming.

my instructor said the best time to take the DATs is about 2-3 weeks after the kaplan course is over. this way, the material is still fresh in your head.

I took the DAT in august as well. I began the Kaplan classes in June and it ended mid july. As the previous poster stated, I too agree its best to take it 2-3 weeks after kaplan. That way its fresh in your head and you have enough time to polish up on which ever subjects you feel the least comfortable with. Kaplan provides you with a lot of great resources to use once there class is over with. I found them very helpful!!

KAPLAN classroom discussions are a waste of time and money. Just sign up for the online course and take advantage of the online material. However, if you still wish to take the course, I think it runs somewhere between 6-7 weeks (not sure though). Also, the KAPLAN work won't do magic unless you spend some time studying at home. So invest an additional 3 (minimum) weeks after the course ends to study on your own and to review the material.

Good Luck👍

Anyone take Kaplan plus read all those other books and programs everyone talks about?
