I'm planning on majoring in Biology for undergrad, and I've started looking into different possible concentrations. Right now I have an interest in Zoology and Ecology, but most of the advisors I've talked to claim that most Pre-meds are concentrating in Microbiology. Does it really matter what your concentration is for medical school?

Also, does anyone have experience in Ecology or Zoology? Would you recommend them? Thanks!

This is splitting hairs. It really doesn't matter. And even if it did, why would you change your concentration to Microbio just because more premeds are doing it? Having more students does not make a major "better" in any way.

Just do what you find interesting.

I agree. What you like most will matter most in the long-run. It's easier to learn material that you're actually interested in. Microbio is great, especially once you get into upper division courses. I would recommend it.

+1 for microbio (or MMI in my case)

Definitely major in what interest you the most, like the others have being saying. You can do human biology(if available). Sometimes advisors don't know what they are talking about. They told me once that I had to major microbiology or genetics, so I can get into medical school (supposedly my only options).

I think genetics is the best concentration
Or go biochemistry

Microbiology > ecology in terms of interest to me personally but you should go for what you will enjoy the most
