Best way to go through First Aid?

I'm starting the preparations for the Step, and I'm slowly feeling a bit overwhelmed by the amount of review. I got the 2010 First Aid book and plan on reading and annotating it. However, I wasn't sure where to start. I was thinking of going through it by subject(Study anatomy, biochem, path, physio, etc.). But, since they have a lot of section broken down by organ systems, I was unsure if I should study by organs(study all cardio, then GI, renal, respiratory, etc.)

This is probably asked before, but what is a generally good way to study through First aid? Reading it from front to back, or sort it out through subjects(ex. Start with anatomy, then physiology, than micro).

www.usmlerx.com Is a Question Bank that will allow you to do practice questions from each accompanying section of First Aid, that is updated with references to FA 2010. It's a great way to reinforce your learning.

www.doctorsintraining.com is a $700 online course that takes you through FA, with a few hours of lecture a day for 15 days. It also provides a supplement that provides other high yield information. They're pretty popular on this forum, and possibly the most recommended course, as long as you haven't been out of medical school.

I went through it section by section with corresponding Goljan and BRS Physiology. I liked reviewing it this way because I get a more comprehensive view going through Goljan and BRS then reviewing it again by reading First Aid.

im planning to read organ by organ, and learn anatomy/embryo/physio/path/pharm of each organ just like its in first aid. as im reading about each organ, ill pull up and study about that organ from brs phys, kaplan pharm, RR path, etc

i like to integrate all the organs and thats how my school has taught me. so im comfortable that way.

id suggest do it how ur school taught you 2nd yr.....i think ull be more comfortable that way

Straight through, chapter by chapter, accompanied with Goljan Audio and USMLERx questions while doing a small number of random UWorld questions every day. Then, go through it again with Doctors in Training and even more UWorld questions. That's what I'm doing, anyway.

Agree with the above. IMO you could/should skip embryo, behavioral science, immuno, 'path' until closer to test date.
