Hey guys. I noticed that whenever I come across a nuclear chemistry problem I always nail the alpha decay part but i always confuse what is positron emission, beta decay, electron capture, and all of their accompanying symbols. Does anyone here have any advice or a handy mnemonic on how to remember these little buggers? Dat in two weeks. Help!

Write it on a notecard.

Btw, which practice materials have nuc. Chem symbols? I think destroyer writes out alpha, etc.

I mean...there's only 4 of them so it shouldn't be hard to just memorize them. Write them all out a few times. These are pretty easy questions and almost guaranteed to show up on your exam so make sure you have them down. It's also worth knowing why a certain decay happens (ex: too many neutrons or too many protons)

Yeah, don't remember this at all when I took Gen Chem. Maybe I was absent that day? But, I think Chad does thorough job explaining it. Maybe watch the video a handful of times?
