Better Source: cecil's essentials, NMS med, step up medicine, Kochars concise. Of these four, which is the best to read throughout the year to do well in courses and for board prep? anybody have experience w/ them? thanks

I have the Cecils book of internal medicine and I use it to look stuff up all the time.

I have never sat down to read the whole thing. I don't recommend that anyone ever do that. THe pages are those thin yellow book type pages and too many of them.

I think it is best kept as a reference or if you can pick and chose topics to read and learn one at a time. But please don't try to read it from page one to end (4,000 I think).

I hope this helps a little. I did not use it for the boards.
