I was looking into becoming a "fellow" for cenegenics. This is my parting E-mail which sums up my thoughts and experience...

Hi James,

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I am actually not interested in moving forward any longer. I believe you deserve an explanation.
Your process is raising some red flags with which I am not comfortable. In every other fellowship in the country, prospective applicants are both interviewed by and have a chance to interview current staff and fellows. This process is important for both parties. How can the current partners be sure they would want me as an integral part of their group when all that is require to move forward is a CV and your opinion? You are telling me that I will be working a couple days a month making thousands of dollars in ideal working conditions. Frankly this sounds too good to be true. I would want to speak with current physicians and fellows to get a sense of if this is the actual reality. I already told you I am not moving forward without this opportunity and your response was that you do not reveal "confidential physician information". That answer insults my intelligence. I can find several of your physicians on advertised webpages very easily with contact information.
Without this opportunity I am left with my own research which leads to things like...

Working at Cenegenics

Here is a possible conclusion that one could draw. You are taking money from physicians looking for a better life. After training them as a sales force you are using them to man your phones essentially for free as they get nothing except on a commission when they get new patients to sign up. This may not sound bad except when you read the above reviews where some people worked for days with no new patients until they had to quit to "get a real job". I would ask you, are potential patients with lower incomes being given to your fellows while high income prospects are given to physicians higher up the totem pole? I suspect that information is confidential as well. On top of all this, you expect me to move forward giving you my time and money without even a contract when many people who know your organization better than I question your ethics? This seems like a joke.

Sincerely,
