I researched with a physician and had this project published. However, there was a typo in the publication and it spelled my name wrong (changed the last letter of my name, which as an Asian, makes another name). The Dr. said that he can not do anything now bc it has already been published. I AM SO DISAPPOINTED!! Do you think this blunder can be overlooked or should I not even mention this on my app?

Foreign name mispelled in the USA? Sounds about right.

List it, it's fine. Medical schools verify your research by asking you about it at an interview, not by researching whether or not you actually wrote the paper.

Don't worry about it, just include it on your app. If someone questions it they can contact the PI & it will be resolved easily.

Obviously still list it and correct the name in the citation. If your first name matches then no one would likely care. If they want to be all super sleuth about it they will just call the PI.

I'd prefer not to link to save anonymity.

And I should have mentioned, it was my first name they mispelled.

Did they change an e to an i or something?

Tanli --> Tanle?

Either way, totally unimportant and hard to imagine how this is a "BIG MISTAKE".

they changed an "r" to a "d" ....the letters aren't even remotely similar

Please don't worry about it. At all. They can easily verify your honesty by asking about the research and/or contacting your PI. Just go ahead and list your hard work.

They're not, but they are right next to each other on the keyboard.

Reminds me of the whole regards, ******s thing if anyone knows what I'm talking about. :laugh:
