Hello,

I was selecting my schools for my AMCAS application and I had everything done. However, I guess my activities did not save correctly and when I went to print out my application for a record I realized it was blank ahhhh I'm freaking out. It says theres nothing I can do to edit that portion of my application so my question is can I withdraw my application and redo everything? Or should I contact AMCAS to see what can be done tomorrow?

I believe if you withdraw, you then have to wait until the following year. I'd contact AMCAS ASAP to see if you have any alternative here

Okay I'll definitely have to call them first thing when they open. I can't seem to find too many posts but it doesn't seem like they open up after submitting it do they?

Correct, you normally are not allowed to edit any of your essays after submitting.

Amcas will probably not let me change anything but I will call when they open. How can I rectify this situation? I literally have two sections that say "STILL NEED TO FINISH" as a mental note to update it Can I email schools? Should I wait until my application is verified? Do you guys think this will be detrimental to my application?

please come back and tell us what you were told.
If I were you, I would stress that this was a computer glitch and that you DID input your ECs.

In a previous thread, AMCAS advised (when it was the student's mistake) to contact each of your applied schools with the correct info.

If you legitimately 100% did enter the activities in and it didn't save your changes, you need to not accept "no" for an answer from AMCAS as far as them changing it. Without an activities section, you're going to have to withdraw and try again next year, costing you several hundreds of thousands of dollars when you consider the opportunity cost of losing 1 year's worth of attending salary. If it's truly the fault of their system, they legally have to correct it. But don't lie to them and say it's their fault if you truly did just forget to enter it.

Agreed. If it's their website's error, then don't take no for an answer. Surely they've faced this before.

This happened to me last year, one of my activities just had the letter "M" for an explanation. AMCAS did now allow me to change it.
I applied very late took september MCAT, still received some interviews and am waitlisted at one school.

If AMCAS tells you to do the same, then write up a professional sounding, not-whining, letter and send it to each of your schools. Something like: I have learned that a technical glitch occurred when submitting my app to AMCAS and the activity section information wasn't transmitted. AMCAS instructed me to contact each school with the information. Below you will find the information that was omitted. Please do not hesitate to contact me in regards to any questions or concerns.
(The above is just off the top of my head...write it up the best you can, but do not say too much ...otherwise it won't get read.)

The below quotes are from a previous year's thread.

That is something that cannot be changed after submission, so changing it is not a possibility. You will have to contact each school individually and clarify.

Thanks for the info!

Checked in with AMCAS, got passed around a couple of time, got the definite answer that it couldn't be fixed now. They suggested just contacting the schools after the 27th.

Matches what was said and kinda what I planned on doing anyway so it's not a big deal. It should be pretty obvious anyway that the activity wasn't medical so... whatever.

I had a technical glitch with my ACCOMAS application and apparently these things do happen. It may be risky to apply if they do not let you fix the mistake, which if your application is verified they probably will not. Some schools may allow for you to give updated PDF of all your activities.
