Biggest dilemma...Advice needed!!!

Hi everyone 😍,
I'm facing the biggest dilemma right now and I need your help!!!
So...to begin with,

I'm a second year master's student and I was hoping to graduate in May!
However!!! My PI told me today that I have to have a defense in April in order to graduate in may...and she doesn't think that it's gonna happen for me! So!!!!! She said I will be able to graduate in August to be realistic!

Now...I dont know what to do...because I haven't gotten any interviews so far...even from the school that I'm doing a master's (don't know why) and I'm pretty much giving up for this cycle...and I was gonna retake my DAT and apply early for next cycle.
But i would have no time to even look at any of my DAT materials until I'm completely done with my master's...and that would be bad because that's not much different from what I did last summer! (I took my DAT on 7/21 and submitted my application on 7/31)...

I was once thinking about dropping out of master's and just study for DAT this semester but I read doc toothache's post about how having a master's degree will increase my chance! But another problem is that...even if that's the cause, my master's degree won't be posted officially until August... which sucks...as schools won't see that I have a degree...

What should I do?!?!?

Please please help me out here...I feel soooooo depressed and sad!!!


+ I had 19/20/18 for my DAT...and Im hoping to get above 20's for all the sections as I dont have a good GPA...

I only see one problem and that is whether you will have enough time to prep for your DAT during your masters.
All others are unnecessary worries, probably because of anxiety and frustration at the admission process (don't wry, i am like that too).
Take a min. and process your problem.

You seem to know at least ONE of the reasons you aren't getting in.

Graduating in august is okay, when you apply again, you can enter your studies/courses, show that you have masters course and you can put expected graduation, so dental schools will see that you will have a master's by the time you matriculate.

can you not study after your defense in april? if not, i recommend you revise your personal statement slightly and apply as early as june and mention in your app that you are planning to retake your DATs. Then, you can retake your DAT as late as september and use academic update on AADSAS in november to update your masters grades.

That's my thing though...my defense is not gonna be until late July or even possibly in August...and having to write over 100 pages of thesis will not gonna help me either. When will I ever have time to study for my DAT? By the time I have a free time which is gonna be September and on,,, it would be considered too late to retake my DAT...sigh...*

I'm done with all the classes that I have to take,,, I just need to get my project going and have defense...so there wouldn't be any classes that I will be taking in summer or fall...so I don't know how I can notify the school for having a master's degree...

sigh...sigh...and more sigh.....🙁
