Everyone always rags on CVS and Walgreens, and oftentimes for good reason: little tech hours, too much micromanagement, etc... I'm curious though, for people who work at other major chains, what are your biggest issues with them? My biggest beef with CVS is all the extra metrics and paperwork that we gotta worry about (script sync, first-fill counseling over the phone, action plans for PIC, etc...).

Plan of action is the norm! For not meeting the monthly goal of IMZ, for input accuracy of tech below 97%, for out of stock >5%, for patient online request <15%, patient adherence <85%, customer rating below 9.5, etc. Business plan every quarter. I feel like I'm back in school again. Must have meaningful and quality counseling but make sure scripts get out in 20 minutes regardless how many were dropped off (if in store then 20 minutes.) Endless computer learning/training or refresher every month. Grass is becoming harder to chew cuz all these chains are spreading weeds (metrics, POA) on our lawn.

I have more conference calls with WM than I ever did with CVS, but all of the above, yep.

WM gonna be up people's asses for Schedule Right optimization being below < 80% soon I bet. I'm just gonna let it auto-schedule 100% and let people bitch, both customers and techs if it comes to that. Fortunately I have never ended up having to do a business plan since I've never been RXM/PIC over a store with declining Rx sales (declining net profit, well...)

This. It sounds like Walmart where I work.

We all have to do a business plan for our DM regardless if we are on the top 5 or bottom of the district...because there is always something to improve.

Hospital pharmacy is the way to go. None of this BS to deal with. The pay might be less but the life is better.
