hi,

i'm new to the forum and i searched on here, but i didn't find much about michaelis-menten.
has anyone ever seen it on the DAT?? just curious if something i should look over more than once.

it shows up in the kaplan mcat biological sciences review notes, but not the kaplan dat review notes.

I would know it.

I've never read anything about it coming up on the exam at all.

However, it will only take you a short time to understand the basic concept.

Competitive inhibitor: Vmax stays same, Km changes

Noncompetitive inhibitor: Vmax changes, Km stays the same.

Km can be used to measure binding of ligand to enzyme. It is the concentration of substrate present for the enzyme rate to be at 1/2Vmax.

That is about the depth of my knowledge, but worth looking over. This is about as in depth as ExamKrackers MCAT material covers it as well.
