Thanks for your help...

1. Water is polar covalently bonded, which of the following statement is true of water?

A. the nucleus of the oxygen atom attracts electrons making the oxygen end of the molecule negative
B. the nucleus of the hydrogen atoms attracts electrons making the hydrogen end of the molecule negative
C. the electrons are equally distributed around the oxygen and hydrogen atoms

2. If monosaccharides undergo anabolic reactions they may form
A. starch
B. glycogen
C. glucose
D. Both A and B
E. A, B, and C

a and d

anabolism is a constructive process, so the answer would be any kind of polysaccharide. i believe.

1-A
2-D, becouse in anabolic reactions you construct a molecule from smaller units. It can't be E, because it includes glucose, which is a monosaccharide. Starch and Glycogen are polysaccharides made from smaller units of carbohydrates.

1. C my guess!!. thinking about the 180 angle, VSEPR
2. D glucose is mono.....so when you have a monosacc going under anabolic reaction , molecules will form into a polysacc. opposite is catabolic (molecules break down)

Water does not have a bond angle of 180, it is bent.

The oxygen atom is more electronegative so it pulls the electrons closer to it. Consequently, the O ends up with a partial negative charge.

kelaio, 1 is def. A. partial negative b/c of the electron lone pairs
