Hey guys, I was looking at RVU's site and they said that they require 12 semester hours of general biology. I thought that this was pretty weird since basically all the other schools required 8 semester hours. I'm also kind of confused about what they mean when they say semester hours, since my bio 1+2 course is 9 credits but the course hours is 14 hours. I also took a class called genetics and evolution which was 3 credits. If RVU meant 12 semester hours as in 12 credits would I be okay with bio 1+2 and the genetics class? I'm kind of worried since they specified general biology for 12 semester hours(which i take it to mean credit) while my school's general biology is only 9 credits.

You should be fine. Contact the school if you have specific questions. They are the ones that know best what they want.

its all really confusing because on your app ithat would count as a bio science, so there would be a section biological science credit hours: and it would include your genetics classes. however, i think a few schools want a gen bio sequence. But there were others I emailed that said it didnt matter, as long as it was bio science.
