Hi, at my university, biochem is split into two semesters, the second one pertaining to the dreaded metabolisms. However, is the first part of biochem hard? It's about structures, amino acids, lipids, etc.

I didn't find it too difficult. I thought it was pretty interesting.

It varies from school to school and from different levels of difficulty. If you have succeeded previously in gen. chem and orgo, then you should succeed in biochem typically. Speak to students that have taken it at your school because no one here will be able to give you a real straight answer.

Hard, but not impossible. It took lots of studying, but I did well in the class.

Very dependent on school and professor. Hard? No. Lots of material? Yes.

At my uni, its the course everyone puts off the longest. I enjoyed it and learned quite a bit, but I will say with confidence it was one of the most difficult courses I've taken.

So much detail...repressed memories are resurfacing.
