hey I'm kinda having problem with the review of some biochem concepts. and I don't have strong base of biochem.

what do " methylation, sulfation, phophorylation, acetylation, carboxylation, addition of GPI, myristoylation, palmitoylation, franesylation, granylgeranylation " mean ? ? !

I know its the addition of some chemical groups or compounds but does it differ, and is there a function for each ?

Help a guy out

how can you be a med student and not know at least some of those or come across some of those terms

Are we being PUNK'D?!! Undergraduates know this stuff. Why don't you grab your book, look in the index, and look it up?! Or just google it?! You're going to be a doctor, hopefully, so put in some effort. And looking this information up isn't effort honestly.

I think I have mentioned that I don't have a strong biochemstry base !

In our school the curriculum don't have a strong basic subjects foundation, and we don't have pre-med like you, if you have the best curriculum in the world,
don't show it of on my face, and making fun and just pointing out my weaknesses.

go look it up in your FA, chapter special situations , page 29 under the paragraph of statistics it is mentioned that students from non-US medical schools perform worst on BS and biochem.

and on the other hand better on gross anatomy and pathology

I have mentioned that I need help. and non of you have the manners just to point out on the right direction aiding in which is more high-yield in biochem facts. is it clinical or these basic concepts

and for the "google" guy and the "better more like it" guy and the "undergraduate" guy, I'm not lazy nor cloddish, I just want to know you and try to make friends here.

I've been here searching for friends who share the same view and the same dream as I'm, trying to make a difference a change in life. and in Medicine
but looks like I'm in the wrong website

I've wrote some curses but I erased them because my religion and my manners don't let me talk like this

I suppose there's been a bit of a misunderstanding. People here actually respond well to well thought out questions or confusing questions where the person has clearly put in some thought but needs additional clarification.

You asked for us to define 7-8 terms that are easily searchable on Wikipedia. Hence you come across as asking to be spoon-fed. In the future, ask one question at a time. And try not to ask for simple definitions that anyone can look up on a dictionary.

yeah I was kinda freaking out, and I asked a stupid question and overreacted

sorry for the inconvenience

SDN still rock
