Hi there,

I have heard some different opinions about Bio prereqs, overall I know a year of gen bio is standard for most med schools.

That being said, I do not see a specific Bio 2 course in the list my school offers.

Any recommendations on which of the following to take?

BIOL 107 - General Biology - Lecture and Laboratory
(Took this)

BIOL 160 - Elements of Human Anatomy and Physiology

BIOL 205: General Microbiology

BIOL 201A: Intro to the Biological Sciences

BIOL 210B: Intro to the Biological Sciences 2

BIOL 230: Human Anatomy

BIOL 235: Human Physiology

That's odd that they offer 2 200-level intro bio courses. I would say just take whatever lower division bio classes that will fulfill the prereqs for upper division. Definitely recommend microbiology, anatomy, and physiology. Usually those are upper division but I guess every school is different.

Don't you have a premed advising office or even older premed friends you could ask? At my school it was obvious which courses were what the premeds had to take. It seems like 201A and 210B are more in line with what they're looking for, assuming those include labs, but it's hard to tell as an outsider.
