Hi.....Now I'm really scared...I j ust figured that when I took my Biol I at junior college I took the one that's for non-science major....abd by the time I figured that i was in wrong class....it was too late to drop.......But I did take Biol II that's for science major....My question to u is....Will the schools deny me just based on this one biol class??

I would take it in the spring....But I'm taking Physics I & II, and Calc I in spring.....So I don't know if I should take it in the spring or not...

Please let me know...It's scaring the hell out of me... :scared: :scared: :scared: :scared:

I really think it depends on the school.... try to find out what number series each school is looking for. Good luck! :luck:

Mmmm, probably not... does the title of the class on the transcript say "Biology for non majors I?" or just "Biology I?" If it's the latter, I think your problem is solved.

I got AP credit for Bio I and II, but took Bio III at college level... One of the schools I'm applying to does not take AP credit but because I got a bio degree they aren't saying that I need to take Biol I and II again--they are accepting the AP credit because I already have BioIII and a degree, and it would be silly to ask someone with a Bio degree to go back and take the first two freshman courses.... I'd just pretend like everything is fine, and don't even say anything about because when you get notification that your file is comlete from all these schools you apply to, they tell you what is lacking in your prereqs... First off, if its only a class or two, most schools could go ahead and offer you acceptance (they are usually fairly flexible- depending on the schoool--some shools allow classes to be taken during summer btwn P1 and P2, but some schools are very strict about having all prereq's... it just depends on the school)... If you get notification that you need Biology I, call the school and tell them the situation, and since you already will have taken Bio II, I don't think many would make you take it again... But be prepared to argue your case.

The best case scenario is that they won't even notice (or care) about the major/non-major thing on the Bio I course, esp if you have Bio II for majors on there... I would wait and let them bring it up, is what I'm saying... go ahead and apply wherever you wnated to. I'm not on an adcom, but I can't imagine there are many schools that wouldn't work with you on that one.

HI...DHG

Thanks for the kind reply...Your opinion did give me some relief...

Well......on my transcript it says that I have A for General College Biology I......And A for Biology for science majors II...

So I hope they won't notice "general" vs. "science major" on the title of the biol class

I think some pharmacy schools have prereq. articulation agreements with other schools, so the acceptable course numbers are in their database and compared to what is on your transcript.

You will want to check the pharmacy school's website for this. In California, UOP, Western, USC, and UCSF have these agreements with other schools.

I could be completely and utterly and totally wrong... but I don't think many schools are going to notice/care. If you are a good candidate otherwise, I'd be willing to make a $5 bet that very, very few schools are going to push that issue. Don't bring it up, and see what happens. If they bring it up, argue your case (politely!-- "But I took all the other more advanced courses beyond Bio I, and I took them "for majors", and got A's!!" You get the idea.) 👍 Good luck

i think it would be a problem. these schools aren't stupid. if they say they want a year of general bio, they WANT A YEAR OF GENERAL BIO. im guessing the bio you took was introductory bio. won't suffice...especially for USC.
