I am going to be a freshman in the fall and wanted to know which major I should go with. I like science alot and know my major doesn't matter to med schools but which one is a little bit easier in terms of class load and things like that. I will also be an athlete at a d3 school

Beats me what will be easiest for you. Just try out classes from both and see how it goes this year.

Doesn't matter. Curriculum is basically the same.

This. I did biomed, and did not find it too difficult if you put the effort into it. I shared classes with bio and chem students, most of the required classes (bio, chem, physics is the same). In my experience, and don't take it too strongly, with bio, you need animal classes, evolution, environment, etc., while biomed is micro, molec, biochemistry... I found my biomed major to be really useful for the old MCAT physics and bio sections.
Since the intro classes/prereqs are the same, you still have time to decide and figure out what you want to do, if you still want to do either.
