Hi,
Can you please answer this question with explanation? I have the answer which is 5’-AUUCGG-3’. The problem is that why do we have an A at first?
If the original DNA segment is 5’-CCGAAT-3’, what is the sequence of transcribed mRNA?

DNA and RNA are synthesized in the 5' to 3' direction, and in a way that is antiparallel:

If the original DNA segment is 5’-CCGAAT-3’, we synthesize our new strand of mRNA starting from the DNA's opposite 3' end. Since the DNA's 3' end begins with a T, a transcribed mRNA segment begins with the complimentary base pair (A).
