This question is question # 18 in Cliff's AP Biology in "Animal From and Function":

Which of the following would be activated first in response to a body cell that has been invaded by a virus?
A. Cytotoxic T cells
B. Natural killer cells
C. Antibodies
D. Macrophages
E. Neutrophils

I have a confusion about the answer. Can anybody please explain this question?
Thanks,

The keyword is "activated" that's why it's T cells vs Natural Killer cells. For example, NKC's are like the cops (always around) protecting the people in the community, but if there's a state of emergency (i.e., riots or bombing) then T cells (swat, army) get involved to help.

Yes! Yes! Yes! You know you are more ready to take the test when you could start explaining the solutions.
