does anyone know where vitamin K is absorbed?

I think small intestine. The large intestine has some bacteria that make vitamin K too, but it is not much.

Since Vit. K is one of the fat sol vitamins it gets abs along with fats in the small intestine. Checked my nutrition book.

To be super specific...... dietary vit. k is provided mostly as phylloquinone in plant food and a mixture of menaquinone in animal products...... phylloquinone (vit k) is absorbed from the small intestine, particularly from the jejunum. 🙂

what if you were born without small intestines or had your jejunum removed, what then?
