i didn't think it was that bad, but maybe that's just because i'm a trainee and didn't have as much to input/roll over

making sure ORCID is linked to NCBI account before starting was very helpful (but this was hard to do because my ORCID was linked with an old NCBI account i had forgotten existed)

also you can add breaks in/after personal statement and contributions to science by typing "<br><br>"

It wasn't bad for me... but I had a number of KP who couldn't figure it out and flagged all the warnings/errors in the eRA Common system. I think the bolded is/was the issue for them.

that makes sense then! i had somebody suggest to open an incognito window and the login to NCBI with ORCID... this is the only way i could find to unlink that old account

I called the Commons help desk this morning because our grants office was refusing to submit the application without personal confirmation from all keys that their Commons account had Orcid link (separate from ScienCV).

Help Desk said we would get a generalized warning but that wouldn't prevent the submission from going through. I think as long as the Orcid ID prints out on the certified biosketch you are OK.

I'm with you on the urge to smash everything though.

Well, the system I guess is/was so broken recently, that now the date is May 2026.

All to make sure we don't have "another" lab leak...
