Hi,
I am a student of biochemistry, and i want to do master in biostat. Howmany years i need to complete my master. What salary i could expect to get after my master?

I'm in epi, not biostats, but from what I hear, biostaticians are making pretty good money for master's level degrees.
According to the American Statistical Association, annual salaries for biostatisticians in the United States in 1999 ranged from approximately $48,000 to $125,000.
From http://www.flahec.org/hlthcareers/BIOSTAT.HTM

I've actually heard that they are losing a lot of academicians to other markets because the demand is so high. The master's program at my school is 2 years.

i am a science student while Biostat is basically math. Am i eligible to complete master in bio stat in 2 years?

Well, at my school, an MS in biostats requires 38 credit hours. Someone take 12-13 credit hours (roughly 4 courses) per semester would finish in 4 semesters. But, you're correct. Nearly all of the course requirements are mathematic and only a few are close to the basic sciences (genetic data analysis, microarrays, etc being the exceptions). I think an MPH in biostats might have a few less math courses and a few more public health classes.

I'm getting my master's in Biostats so I thought I'd chime in with some stuff that I know. Job availability is pretty good if you have a Master's, and you'll probably be looking at a job at a CRO. Salary can vary depending on the location, but I'd say with a master's degree and 0 yrs of experience you're looking at something in the mid to high 50's.

is there a difference in salary if whether that masters degree in biostats was a MS or MPH?

You asked this question in another thread. Perhaps instead of restarting a three year old thread you could ask more questions in your current one. 🙂

not that i'm abandoning my own thread or anything but i stumbled upon this thread and thought it would be more relevant to ask my question regarding the salary (which i initially left out) here 😛
