The success rate on every birth control effectiveness/comparison is described as "number out of every 100 women who experienced an unintended pregnancy within the first year of typical use of each contraceptive method."
Does anyone know when they do all the fancy statistics how often this sample population of women are having sexual intercourse in the year? Do different studies try to match a "standard number of sexual encounters" for a year? It seems to make a huge difference if per year those 100 women are having sex once a day/week/month/year.
I'm trying to better understand this so I can better explain it to patients. Thanks.
