I was talking with someone who recently interviewed and was accepted at TCOM. She told me the interview was "blind" meaning the interviewer didn't see anny grades/mcat etc. before interviewing the individual. Sort of a clean slate situation. My question is if this is the caes, and you land an interview and then impress the interviewer enough for maybe an acceptance then do the adcom's then go back and look at your numbers and application etc. coupled with you interview before offering you a spot. Or is it once you land an interview then everything hinges on that point forward? Btw, her GPA was 3.1 and mcat was 24, so that offers some hope for those of us recovering from long past ug gpa.

I went to a blind interview last week. At least for that school, the interviewer goes back after the interview and gets to see your numbers, gives a suggestion to the committee, and then the committee makes a decision but does not have to follow the interviewers advice. My interivewer ended up asking me my MCAT at the end of the interview. Other people also got asked theirs. The interviewer specifically wanted to know if I was happy with my MCAT and if I planned on retaking but my impression of the situation was that he also didn't want to recommend someone without at least a reasonable score. So yes, the interviews are blind so that they can assess their first impression of you but then they go back and look at your numbers for a final decision, at least in my experience. But the one thing about that type of interview is that I think that it demonstrates that the school is not so 'numbers-hungry' and wants to look at others factors about an applicant too.

Bradenton is a closed file interview, but I made sure to mention anything that would look negative so that they wouldnt be shocked when they saw my file. I also highlighted my strengths so we'll see!

Thank you for this, OP! Those are basically my stats, I do have great work HX, but its encouraging as TCOM is my 1st choice! 👍👍👍

I think they just want to interview you without any biases based on the numbers. I doubt it has anything to do with how much weight is given to said numbers.

I just got accepted today so I guess it worked out for me! I liked having the opportunity to sell myself without them seeing my stats!

How did you do that exactly?
