Curious as to how current students feel about their school's system - block or traditional class schedules and how it pertains to exam schedules?

Pros and cons of your class/exam schedule?

thanks!

Block all the way. It makes every day different and you don't have to worry about a traditional finals week where you cram so hard you don't remember anything. DMU gives all the students the same laptop with an Outlook calendar that the administrators can change to show you where to be and when. Our class schedule is different everyday so it keeps things interesting, plus it's smart. Some courses don't need to meet 3 days a week for an entire semester, so we don't. We cram some courses into 6 weeks and others last entire sememsters depending on how relevant the material is. The last benefit I can think of is it always gives you a goal to shoot for. Our first class was biochem but we took our final in October, so it was done and time to move on to another class. It feels great completing a class in the middle of October instead of getting stuck in the same cycle day after day while you wait for all your classes to pile up at once.
