I recently started a small blog about the pre-med life, well to my surprise, it kinda took off a little bit, and garnered a little bit of attention. I have had some of my posts linked to by some prehealth advising offices at random schools, and other "big" physicians on twitter and the likes. So far I have been running the blog anonymously, and wasn't planning on putting it on my applications or anything. My question is a) should i lift the curtain of anonymity and b) should i think about listing it as an EC.

I absolutely would NOT divulge your name. You'll be hamstrung about what you can write there forevermore. I assume you'll switch into med school life after that, and you don't want to have to avoid certain topics because you don't want to piss off anyone at your school.

What's the link to your blog? 🙂

I'm interested, send me the link plz 👍

link please? gracias

I'd be interested in reading your blog. So please post a link.

I also keep a blog. Feel free to check it out Candid Cerebrations

I've seen several of these types of blogs but I always wonder...what is so unique about "the life of a pre-med" that needs blogging about?

I doubt any of the premed experiences are truly unique, but what I've found is that talented blog writers have a unique perspective and ability to relate their experience, FWIW.

The link is in his signature, disguised as "Win Free Books"

Interesting Blog to say the least.

Winner winner chicken dinner

Yup, i wasn't expecting it to take off, but its been linked to by the @pritzkerpodcast, gmu office of prehealth advising, @kevinmd, @doc_rob, @futuredocs @amednews @radiorounds which is why I'm guessing that it is getting some decent traffic, a few friends and i made it for personal reference and for our group so we could help each other keep up to date with medical issues, and keep ourselves motivated, but i guess one of those guys that linked us saw it somewhere, and in the course of a month we hit around 3,800 views.

The link is http://www.premedhell.com/

lol wouldn't it suck if you end up not getting accepted anywhere? awkwardddd.

It would suck, but its pretty doubtful that I get rejected from everywhere.

why is this? 55% of all applicants are turned down from every school they apply to....not all of them have crappy stats and bad EC's.

true but they may not add safety schools that are low enough or DO schools, I personally don't care either way MD or DO its all the same to me you are still a doctor at the end of the day, with the same practice rights.
