[FONT=arial, helvetica]Question about blood pressure. I learned that systolic blood pressure was a function of resistance and diastolic blood pressure was a function of blood volume, both of which make sense to me. But Pathoma says that systolic BP is a function of stroke volume and diastolic BP is a function of TPR. Is this an error? If not, how is diastolic a measure of resistance when it's during diastole (rest)?.

If you have more resistance less blood will flow out of the artery during systole and thus a greater blood volume remaining thus greater diastolic bp. For systolic bp the more I eject from the LV the more force exerted on the walls of the artery.
