Current Navy HPSP student looking at future career paths and wondering…How hard is it to become the doctor for the Blue Angels? Seems like a cool job but wasn’t sure what the pathway to get there looks like.

Deploy a bunch, and be Navy Flight Surgeon of the year.

Find him on global, email him, and ask. Worst thing is he remembers you and ruins your career before it starts (lol, unlikely), ignores it, or is flattered and becomes a mentor.

I knew someone who did this gig. It was pretty hard on the family as show season is basically a CONUS deployment every year. You get a tailored flight suit tho

Of all the gigs that you could have as a naval flight surgeon, I think this would not be at the top of my pick list. I think it would be like being the elephant keeper in the circus. If you want to deploy, go big. Go for an OCONUS job, MAW or P-8s, something that is the real deal and operational.
