This is all from a friend of mine who is graduating this year:
Her offer from a major chain, in a big mid west city:
We are pleased to confirm our offer of employment at XXXXX chain as a
Pharmacy Graduate Intern in the XXXXXX District at the rate of $31.59 per hour. Upon licensure as a registered pharmacist in the XXXXXXXX District,
your salary as a pharmacist will be $4212 biweekly, which annualized,
equals $109,512.00 based on a 80 hour biweekly schedule.
On doing a residency:
XXXXX chain is on a hiring freeze down here (FL) and my classmates are having a tough time finding jobs. I know you have some time left and not sure what your interests are but I really regret not doing a residency. Especially with the way the job market is, it really makes you stand out and marketable. It is basically another year of rotations but no one I have talked to regrets doing it. I am still really thinking about it for next year. I had a peds rotation a couple months ago but other than that..all my "hospital" rotations are now or yet to come so I didnt think I had an interest in it. Yes its long hours but its awesome bc u really get to use ur clinical skills and make suggestions at rounds and it makes a difference.
I just thought this was a very interesting perspective that I would share with you all. Happy studying 😎
Back to COPD/Asthma for me😴😴😴
