Hi Guys,

I am an internal medicine resident and I will do an BMT elective next October. Wondering how can I study for that, any ideas?

Oh thanks man, but is there any kind of basic textbook or guidelines?

The ASBMTR publishes a whole s***load of guidelines. But the day-to-day care of inpatient BMT patients is mostly ID.

Know prophylactic antimicrobials (and know that they will vary between institutions).
Know indications for transplant in different diseases (and then recognize that nobody really follows them anyway...transplanters gonna transplant and all that).
Know how to identify, grade and treat GVHD (and realize that if steroids don't work, your 2nd line options are either tacrolimus or hospice).
