I've been told it's a good idea to use board books during first and second year of med school. That way you know what to focus on and have an easier studying for Step I. Do you guys think that's true? If so, what books would you recommend?

BRS Physio and BRS Path are money... good to use as you go along too, as they might help you distill out the most relevant information from your coursework. It definitely helps to know these books well as you get closer to the boards.

thanks RF. would you recommend First Aid for the other subjects or is BRS sufficient?

BRS physiology saved my semester. 👍

I was also advised to get Step Up and First Aid right off the bat. When I thought about it, I annotated them with lecture notes... it did make things a bit more concise.
