I know there is a thread on here, but I am kinda computerly disabled, could anyone link me to it so I can buy only the good books? I hope you guys are all doing well, just think, 1st semester is probably half way over now!
Take Care,

Step 1 is a computerized exam, so you'd better overcome that computer disability. There are many board related books, but none are going to be of great utility until you have already had (or are taking) med school classes, which, since you are posting in pre-allo, you presumably have not started. They are meant as a review, not a primary learning source. I'm not sure there are "good books" versus bad books -- it is more reader dependant. But "First Aid for the USMLE Step 1" is probably the most popular one. Lots of people like the BRS books as well. All are on Amazon.

Actually, in hindsight, I think BRS books would have been helpful ways to review for a course in undergrad (particularly higher science classes) before exams. Particularly, Immuno comes to mind. Before you do make any purchases, you might want to go to a B&N or any bookstore in a medical school and flip through it to see if it would be right for your class if you do decide to purchase it. Then get it on amazon, or through, what I prefer, ebay (half.com)

There used to be an appendix (D?) at the end of First Aid which had a list - and some type of ranking - on the popular board review books including BRS, UCV, High Yield Notes, Incredibly Simple Series, etc..

If anyone finds an Examkrackers equivalent for Step 1, please post.
