Board Studying Advice

Hi all
Currently on summer break after my first year and I was looking into board studying. I am interested in specializing but not exactly sure with what yet, but I was still planning on taking both Comlex and Step 1. Any advice and best ways to start studying prep? Thank you!

Get micro and pharm nailed down before 2nd year starts. Use sketchy and anki if you prefer that method. Same with any of the other basics (anatomy, biochem, genetics, pathology (pathoma ch. 1-3), etc.). The more you review and solidify the stuff you covered in 1st year, the easier 2nd year and dedicated will be.

Start your preferred question bank at the beginning of 2nd year too. Do it alongside the material you are learning.

UWorld for step and combank just to be familiar with NBOME-type questions for comlex are my recommendations. Amboss is a good and cheaper option too.

I solely used TrueLearn and thought it was nowhere near the same caliber as UWorld. Obviously it's great for OMM and the question style to expect for COMLEX, but that's about it. If you can afford it, get a 1 year subscription for UWorld, do 50 Qs/week when you start OMS 2, and take good notes! Over the summer I would unlock all of the cards for pathoma 1-3, sketchy micro, and sketchy pharm. When you start doing your Q bank questions, unlock the associated topics in Anki
