For people who took boards, did you feel like the board review materials from Oslers or ASCP were comprehensive enough? I'm especially interested to hear about how people feel about the Oslers micro and compendium micro materials since that's pretty much all I'm memorizing in preparation for this section.

Yes, its more than enough. Make sure to go over the Koneman micro pictures in the back of the book.

For AP, I would highly recommend that Robbins Atlas of pathology. It has many gross and micro pictures with captions highlighting the most important details. I was a study until the very last minute type of person, but I quickly skimmed the book cover to cover the day before AP and I feel that it helped.

Read the first several chapters of Robbins especially inflammation, repair and neoplasia. That will cover at least 10% of the questions on the written.

I used the olser notes, the CP mp3 were useful on my commutes. Also I used the ASCP books both the CP and AP series and found those helpful. The robbins atlas was also good for images, especially gross images.

I really hope the compendium is enough to pass because it has been my predominate study aid for CP. I've listened to the Osler and ASCP lectures, but the core of my studying has been from the compendium.

I can't wait till this is over, I'm tired of studying.

Isn't this hell? I feel like I've had zero quality of life for the past 3-4 months.

Yep, it sucks bigtime. Especially since it is Memorial Day weekend and beautiful here. I see everyone going to barbeques and stuff and I'm stuck inside studying because I have to take the stupid test in a week and half.

I keep telling myself that this is the last big test I'll ever have to take (except for MOC stuff).

Long time lurker here, prompted to post to join in the Boards misery.

I feel like I have good days (yeah, I'm going to pass!) and crummy days (holy crap, I don't remember the stuff I looked at last week). I'm also hoping ASCP and compendium will be enough.

I'm setting the bar low on this one, if I pass by one point that's fine by me. Back in med school we used to say P equals MD. I guess now it can be P equals BC.

Best of all, you wouldn't know it. If you pass, you're not given a score. You only get a score and breakdown by subject if one is unsuccessful.

Perfect.

It must be gut wrenching to not pass by a few points.
