Hi,

I just got my scores back (228/92) and was wondering if anybody had any comment on if these scores are good enough for an Int. med. residency at a program like penn or BI deaconess in Boston...I'm really not sure b/c I've heard diff things from various people. If anybody had any insight into my question - it's much appreciated

thanks

I don't know about Penn but I think BID in Boston is a definite possibility. I go to Tufts, a mid-ranked school where the mean score for Step 1 is generally right on the nat'l mean, and 5 people from our school matched at the BI for IM this year. A respectable # also matched at Yale, Cornell, Columbia, and Penn for IM, and many CA residents ended up at UCLA or UCSF for IM or IM/Primary Care. There are really a lot of factors involved and you just never know; might as well apply! Your scores are solid and a good way to start your clinical years.. good luck!
